A1 - Good Typography
I
chose this design because of the clever use of the typographical arrangement
made with a twist that is used to help illustrate the points made by the
author, Dr. Oliver Sacks. The purpose of the design is related to the book; it
examines how the visual cortex processes visual information. Designer, Chip
Kidd, designed the title to resemble an eye chart which he then selected areas
were then blurred in photoshop. The clever use of this design will most likely
catch the attention of anyone wanting to further explore the process of how the
mind and eye cooperate to construct visual information.
