5 Things I learned about Typography
1. The most important thing I learned was the importance of layouts. Setting a grid helped me understand how to structure most of my later projects.
2. The second thing I learned was the importance of iterations. I tried my best to think up as many different designs for the logotype and the projects that came after.
3. The third thing is the communication of the projects. I was constantly asking myself how this would communicate to someone outside of the classroom.
4. The fourth thing is the importance of syntax. I feel like I got better with the movement of my designs as the semester progressed.
5. The last thing is the importance of fonts and how they contribute to the projects. They can project a certain mood and possibly ruin the entire project.
5 Things I should have learned
1. MJ - I really liked how simplistic hers was. My book seems to be a little "muddy" at times when compared to hers.
2. Sydney - Her spreads are very creative with type. This is something I should have done to with mine.
3. Devin - He focused his whole book on type. I feel like I spent more time worrying about the images in mine and not on the type.
4. Aubrey - Her book is super creative. I feel like I could have spent more time focusing on the "interactive" pages for mine. She put a lot of effort and creativity into the whole book.
5. Brendon - He had a lot of different variations within his book. I should have thought about adding different viewpoints throughout my book.
